If you read the tab above titled The Story, you may remember that after months of praying for the Dreamhouse, I had lost hope. I became discouraged and questioned whether or not God would ever answer my prayer. Through a friend, I realized that I had given up hope for my dream for a home. In response to this realization--and knowing what I believed God was calling me to do instead--to hope--I wrote this to God in my journal. Since then it has turned into a song. I sang it recently at an Open Mic event. It's titled Hope.
Dare I hope for the impossible?
Dare I believe for a dream?
The silence is deafening
No signs abound
But still in the darkness
He sings out loud:
Hope
Hope
Believe in what you cannot see
Hope
Believe
In utter impossibility
When all traces of life
have vanished and gone
When it makes better sense
to just pick up and move on
Hope
Hope
Believe in impossibility
Hope
Trust
In things you cannot see
He spoke the world into existence
He speaks all into being
Hope in what you cannot see
One week after I wrote this response/song to God, we received the phone call about the house. Right when I had lost all hope, Hope rose, and my dream came true. My prayer was answered. Because of this, I am now hoping for even greater miracles in my life than this.
Hope!

Hope Rising
"...the rising Sun
will come to us from heaven
to shine
on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet
into the path of peace."
Luke 1: 78-79
the above picture was given to us from one of our new friends in the teeny tiny village where our new home will be. focus on the shot of the Sun/Son rising--isn't it, isn't He, incredible? His Light reaching in all directions! shining forth purpose and light and life!
hope IS rising!
because of Him...
in me, in you, in the girls' lives
can you feel it?

Walk With Me
We spent last week at the house...checking out schools for the kids...and just getting used to this GIFT the Lord has given us. I took a walk out our back gate, turned right for about 5 minutes, and walked into literal horizons and horizons of hope. Every which way were fields and hills and trees and streams. And the perfect quiet, the stillness, was profound. It was glorious. The landscape is not lush green at the moment, but still every bit of captivating to me. When I turned toward home, this was my view.
Healing to the soul, is it not?
Can't wait for the girls to see what He has in store for them...
